Dr Siobhan Blackwell – Clinical Psychologist Surrey & Psychologist Guildford with 20+ Years Experience

As a clinical psychologist in Surrey and Guildford, my aim is to provide high-quality mental health therapy using evidence-based psychological models that adhere to NICE guidelines. I offer CBT, EMDR, DBT and Cognitive Analytical Therapy for adults and adolescents across Surrey.

About me

My aim to provide the best possible mental health care to those I work with by practicing within well-established, evidence-based psychological models that adhere to The NICE guidelines.

As an insurance approved psychologist in Guildford, I am recognised by all major insurance companies including Bupa, AXA, Aviva and Vitality, and I also welcome self-funding individuals.

I am an experienced clinical psychologist in Surrey with over 20 years of dedicated practice in adult and adolescent mental health. My approach is both compassionate and evidence-based, specialising in anxiety therapy, depression counselling, trauma therapy and personality disorder treatment across Surrey and Guildford for individuals navigating a wide range of psychological challenges. My work spans anxiety therapy, depression counselling, trauma therapy including EMDR, relationship therapy, and personality disorder treatment across Surrey and Guildford. Or you may be struggling with something vaguer, such as feeling lost or not reaching your full potential. Whatever you are struggling with, together we can get you to a better place with evidence based therapy in Surrey that follows NICE guidelines.

I completed my clinical training on the Oxford Doctoral Course of Clinical Psychology which is closely affiliated with the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, a centre of excellence for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. As a CBT therapist in Guildford and Surrey, I have post-doctoral qualifications in Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), making me a qualified EMDR therapist in Guildford offering dialectical behaviour therapy across Surrey. Rather than working purely within one model, I tend to draw flexibly on all of these models in order to tailor my approach to match the needs of those I am working with.

Throughout my career as a private psychologist in Surrey, I have worked in diverse settings, including the NHS and private practice, supporting clients seeking adult psychology in Surrey and adolescent mental health support in Guildford, Woking, Godalming and the wider Surrey area. I am committed to ongoing professional development and am registered with the British psychological Society (BPS), The Association of Cognitive Analytical Therapy (ACAT), The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and adheres to the code of ethics set for these governing bodies.

What my clients say

Dr Blackwell is an outstanding psychologist. She has a wealth of skills and is highly personable. I trust her completely and have seen some remarkable yields from her involvement in people’s lives, from times of vulnerability to those of strength.

Siobhan listens, understands and collaboratively empowers people to believe in themselves, connect with the world and feel resilient. She retains professionalism, humility, a good sense of humour and will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you on an unwavering journey of hope. I highly recommend her caring, thoughtful and methodical approach to shared success.

Everything Siobhan says is said with the purpose of getting you to where you want to be. She is direct, honest and without her I could never have broken the lifelong patterns of self-sabotage I was struggling with. My life now is where I want to be.
